Chapter 1: SetsSets and their representations; Union, intersection and complement of sets; Power set; Universal set; Venn diagrams; De Morgan’s laws; Cartesian product of sets; Relation, Types of relations: reflexive, symmetric, transitive and equivalence relations.
Chapter 2: Relations and FunctionsOrdered pairs, Cartesian product of sets, relation, domain, codomain and range, equivalence relation, Types of functions: one-one, into and onto, Inverse of a function, composition of functions.
Chapter 3: Trigonometric FunctionsPositive and negative angles. Measuring angles in radians and in degrees and conversion from one measure to another. Definition of trigonometric functions with the help of unit circle.
Chapter 4: Principle of Mathematical InductionProcess of the proof by induction, motivating the application of the method by looking at natural numbers as the least inductive subset of real numbers. The principle of mathematical induction and simple applications.
